The pioneers of the breed passed away, all of them. The knowledge we have about them is poor and a lot of material is lost or even destroyed. I have been so lucky to meet Mr. José Gomes and Mr. William Frederic Chalmers, I interviewed the children of Pedrinho do Engenho and João da Silva Costa and several members of the Reis family and I visited all the fazendas of the pioneers. Separate from the old Fila histories I love to tell about the fazendas. Many of these farms have an impressive history, like the Fazenda da Jaguara. Also the people who bred and breed filas are important as well as the many cultural aspects that I met while studying this very special breed of dog. I hope that my readers will realize the importance of all this and open their eyes and their heart for the people, the history, the art and the nature of this fascinating country named Brazil. El resultado de varios viajes en Brasil, visitando y entrevistando a los más prestigiosos criadores y autoridades en el mundo del Fila Brasileiro, fue la realización de un amplio libro sobre la raza que cuenta con algo mas de 400 paginas y 200 fotos.
El prólogo del libro es de la mano del gran cinófilo Paulo Roberto Godinho, que es juez internacional del FCI, autor y jornalista y también asesor de la presidencia del CBKC (Confederaçao Brasil Kennel Club) y que termina su opinión con las siguientes palabras:
"Ines ama el Fila Brasileiro y lo defiende con su personalidad y con una batería de conocimientos tan exquisitos como imparciales.
Su texto es interesante, rico en detalles y verdadero en su esencia.
"No es mas que otro libro sobre el Fila" dirán algunos. Pero yo afirmo que hay dos diferencias fundamentales que lo destacan sobre los que se

The result of traveling around in Brazil, visiting and interviewing the most important breeders and Fila personalities, has resulted in a book that counts over 400 pages and about 200 pictures.
