En el año 1987 el Fila Brasileiro entró en nuestra vida y hoy en día no podríamos imaginarnos como vivir sin esta noble raza.

Durante los primeros años tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer el carácter de la raza, lo que consideramos una experiencia positiva, por otro lado nos sentimos muy afectados al descubrir que la mayoría de los Filas estaban manipulados por los mestizadores en Brasil durante las décadas de los setenta y de los ochenta, especialmente dentro y alrededor de las ciudades de São Paulo y Rio de Janeiro.

Sería difícil encontrar alguna raza tan dañada por su propia gente como el Fila brasileiro.
El crimen ecológico del mestizaje fue tan grave que después de algunos años la población fileira en Brasil estaba formada por 80% de ejemplares mestizos y solo de 20% de Filas puros.

Un golpe mortal para el Fila ha sido el cierre del Registro Inicial, eliminando así el uso de sangre fresca de los Filas de las fazendas, mientras que los cruces de los productos del mestizaje entre ellos es cosa legal.

Asi nacieron Filas con genes formados de sangre Fila/Napolitano/Mastiff.
Estos perros eran - y sus descendientes todavía están - exportados por todo el mundo, resultando en distintos tipos y falta de temperamento.

Después de enterarnos de lo que ha ocurrido con la raza en el pasado reciente, nos hemos sentido obligados a empezar todo de nuevo y después de viajar a Brasil en 1994, visitando criaderos del CAFIB, fazendas en Minas Gerais y Filas puros dentro y alrededor de Belo Horizonte, hemos importado un nuevo plantel.

Nuestro objetivo es la crianza de un Fila de fenotipo correcto, de un buen genotipo, con un temperamento equilibrado y con un perfecto movimiento.

Lo que queremos es el Fila auténtico sin ninguna influencia de sangre extraña de otras razas, queremos el Fila puro, desarrollado de manera natural durante los últimos siglos en el Estado de Minas Gerais, sin ninguna manipulación humana.

Estamos contentos de conocer a más personas y organizaciones que luchan por el fila puro.
Por eso apoyamos la filosofía del Clube de Aprimoramento do Fila Brasileiro (CAFIB), el Clube Mineiro de Criadores de Fila Brasileiro (CMCFB) y el Unifila en Brasil, en los Estados Unidos el Fila Brasileiro Preservation Society (FBPS) y en España en Club de los Molosos de arena (CEMA).
Una colaboración entre todos es lo que da esperanza para la raza.

Nuestro plantel de Filas está controlado por displasia y los resultados son según las normas del FCI, valorados por el AVEPA de Barcelona o por el Dr. Wuster del Club de los Molosos alemán.
Todos nuestros Filas tienen pedigree de la FCI.

Todo el plantel está genotipado, se han realizado pruebas ADN y las muestras de sangre están depositadas en el Laboratorio genético de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
El motivo de las pruebas ADN es triple: garantía de un pedigree honrado para el cliente, posibilidad de detectar eventuales manipulaciones con perros nuestros por otros, y lo más importante de todo es dar la posibilidad de investigaciones a los científicos del laboratorio.

In 1987 the Fila Brasileiro came into our lives and nowadays we could not imagine how to live without this noble breed.
The first years we had the opportunity to get to know the wonderful character of the breed, which we consider a positive experience, at the other hand we were shocked to find but that most of the Filas had been manipulated by mixbreeders in Brazil during the seventies and the eighties, particularly in and around Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
It will be hard to find any breed that has been damaged so much by their own people as the Fila Brasileiro.
The ecologic crime of mixbreeding was so serious that after some years the Fila population in Brazil consisted of 80 % mixedspecimens and 20 % pure Filas.
The final blow for the Fila was the closure of the Initial Register, eliminating the use of fresh blood from the Fazenda Filas, whilst the crossing of different mixbreeds among each other continued to be legal!
This gave way to dogs with the adventurous genetical tendency of the Fila/Napolitan/Mastiff type.
These dogs were - and their descendents still are - exported all over the world, resulting in a diversity of type
and a lack of temperament.

After realizing what had happened to the breed in the recent past, we felt obliged to start all over again and after travelling to Brazil in 1994, visiting CAFIB kennels, fazendas in Minas Gerais and breeders of pure Filas in and around Belo Horizonte, we imported our new breeding stock.

Our objective is breeding a Fila Brasileiro of correct fenotype, good genotype, with a properly balanced Fila temperament and with a perfect movement.
We want the authentic Fila without any influence of strange blood from other breeds, we want the pure Fila as it has been developed over the last few centuries in the state of Minas Gerais, without any contrived human manipulation.

We are glad to see more people and organisations fighting for the pure Fila.
That is why we support the philosophy of the Clube de Aprimoramento do Fila Brasileiro (CAFIB), the Clube Mineiro de Criadores do Fila Brasileiro (CMCFB), the UNIFILA, the Fila Brasileiro Preservation Society (FBPS) and the Club Español de los Molosos de Arena (CEMA).
Cooperation means hope for the breed.

Our breeding stock is x-rayed to detect dysplasia, the results are according to the FCI norms, recorded by the AVEPA in Barcelona and Dr. Wuster of the German Molosserclub.
All our Filas have FCI pedigrees.

All our breeding stock is DNA tested and the blood samples are deposited at the Genetical Laboratory of the Universidad Complutense in Madrid.
The reason for these tests is threefold: the guarantee of an honest pedigree to the client, the opportunity to detect possible manipulation with our dogs by third parties, and the most important of all, offering genetic scientists the use of this blood for their research.

DE MAAT IS VOL

Al vele jaren besef ik dat Nederland geen ideaal Filaland is vanwege gebrek aan ruimte en vanwege het gebrek aan begrip voor het authentieke ras qua fenotype en karakter. Toch heb ik af en toe wat Filas naar Nederland verkocht in de hoop de juiste mensen voor mijn pups gevonden te hebben. Helaas werd mijn vertrouwen in hen diverse keren beschaamd. Het ras Fila Brasileiro kwam - zeer onterecht - door onbegrijpelijk gemanoeuvreer van diverse landbouwministers in een kwaad daglicht te staan. De Raad van Beheer deed er nog een schepje bovenop door o.a. het ras te dwingen een MAG test te laten ondergaan. Een echte Fila zal deze - voor dit ras volkomen ongeschikte - test nooit naar tevredenheid van "gedragsdeskundigen" uit de officiele kynologie afleggen, konsekwentie daarvan is dat voor pups geen stamboom afgegeven wordt. Gevolg van dit beleid is het uitsluiten van gewetensvolle fokkers en het ontstaan van een grijs circuit waar gefokt wordt zonder stamboom met over het algemeen a typische exemplaren. Pups worden aangeboden op het internet en velen hiervan worden snel ter overplaatsing aangeboden of in asiels gedumpt. Het toppunt van verloedering is het kruisen van diverse rassen. De laatste tijd heb ik diverse nare ervaringen gehad, er werden in Nederland enkele nesten geboren waar honden van mij bij ingezet waren, o.a. een kruising waarvan de kwaliteit ver beneden de door mij gestelde norm lag en een kruising van een Filateefje met een reu van een ander ras. De onbegrijpelijke houding van de Raad van Beheer en het volkomen gebrek aan ethiek van vele hondeneigenaren in Nederland hebben geleid tot het nemen van het volgende besluit: Ik zal geen enkele Fila meer naar Nederland verkopen.
